Description
DGT Official FIDE Electronic Chess Pieces
The official FIDE chess set was first used on DGT boards in 2013 at the World Championship Match in Chennai India when Magnus Carlsen used the pieces to defeat Vishwanathan Anand and become the 16th World Champion. The design is based on the proportions of classical Greek architecture and the classic Staunton design to create a set that is both modern and traditional. Designed by internationally renowned Pentagram designer and architect Daniel Weil.
Each piece is handmade and fully compatible with all DGT electronic boards, making the Official FIDE set ideal for recording games and playing online. With their classic look and reliable build, these pieces are perfectly suited for tournaments as well as for enjoying high-quality games at home.
